Honas Apples are the Same

The title of this writing is different in that if you know a Honas family, very likely the apples will have fallen from the same branch. Ralph Honas was a board member of the Bukovina Society and when a call came in for a helping hand at the society museum you would likely see Ralph showing up.
The “rose” of an apple was picked by contacting Ralph’s daughter Rose (Honas) Dunkin to honor us with the gift of her hands and remodeling and carpentry skills that can’t be matched by any number of men that dabble in wood working projects.
Our board of directors like the idea floated about adding Museum to the existing two outdoor signs that are on the east and west end of the city limits of Ellis, Kansas.
There are found museums in this city of a population of less than 2,000. This would included the Bukovina Society, the Rail Road Museum, the Walter P. Chrysler Museum, and the Ellis Alumni Association, that has collections and artifacts that are quite impressive to be able to visit and deserve to be called a museum. This project was in keeping with the Ellis Tourism Committee efforts to promote, advertise, and present a welcoming invitation to visit Ellis and in the awesome items that are in the museums here.
